When Shelley Tremain first approached Noam Ostrander and me with the proposal for this special issue, we did not have to think more than a minute or so before eagerly agreeing that it would be an excellent and important contribution, not only to Disability Studies, but to feminism and philosophy, as well. She has worked tirelessly, and with her typical keenness of mind and careful discipline, to produce the issue before you: the accomplishment is all hers (and her authors'), and we on the editorial staff thank her and her authors for this valuable, necessary work.
The January issue will be a general one, and we will also be introducing new members of the editorial team to you then. In the meantime, we know you will find much to consider in this issue.
